About Growing Heat

This is the season when summer gets down to business. Mild and pleasant days come with increasing irregularity. Air conditioners turn on. The number of clothes we wear decreases. If we haven’t put away our winter clothing yet, by midsummer, even the idea of handling our wool sweaters causes us to sweat. Our greetings change from “How are you?” to “Staying cool?” Yes, this is the beginning of the hot, sweaty season. Brace yourself – there is much, much, more to come. Despite the discomfort, midsummer feels alive, pulsating with lively rhythms. It is a time of year to sink your teeth into that cool, crunchy bite of watermelon and revel in the sticky extremes of the season.
