Your Seasonal Guides
Our work on the 24 seasons of Japan is rooted in a lifelong friendship and a shared love of Japan! Alexis and Kit grew up together in Northern California, sharing many of the same interests. Even after Alexis moved farther away, their friendship endured across decades and continents. Together, they have visited Perigord in France, attended each other’s bicoastal weddings, had adventures in Japan, and worked closely on their podcast during the pandemic.
Alexis has always had an interest in seasons, nature, and agriculture which has fueled her research in Japanese studies. Her favorite flower is the lupine and her favorite season is autumn. In addition to producing Season by Season podcast, she is the director/producer of Nourishing Japan, a documentary short about food education.
